On the night the Jazz Combo will be playing a vast selection of Jazz repertoire together with some arrangements.

Sean Borg started playing music around the age of 12 initially taking up the guitar. At age 14 he started studying at the Johann Strauss School of Music where he studied harmony, theory and contemporary guitar. He was later introduced to jazz by his teacher Mr. Manny Busuttil who also began to organise weekly ensemble classes.
In 2010, after a 2 week jazz clinic in Perguia, Italy (at the Umbria Jazz Festival), Sean decided to take up the trumpet which he has been studying with a number of teachers ever since. More recently Sean has begun to get increasingly involved on the local music scene playing in various projects and setups, most notably The Ranch where he also met the combo’s bassist Dean Montanaro.
Dean Montanaro is an electric and upright bass player based in Malta and has been studying music since 2005 with numerous private teachers both from Malta and abroad. While his musical history was heavily rooted in progressive music and more rock-oriented styles, nowadays he enjoys playing mostly in funk, hip-hop and jazz setups while involved in bands and projects including The Jazz Combo and The Ranch among others. The fun of sharing, learning and experiencing music with different people has always been the primary driving force behind what he does.
This project has been funded through the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector on behalf of the Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties.
